It Started at 3am.
The phrase It’s Rainmaking Time!® came to Kim Greenhouse at three o’clock in the morning – sudden, complete, and electric with possibility. She woke with it fully formed, knowing exactly what it meant: people, solutions, and breakthroughs coming together to deliver work that is great, important, and necessary. A universal phrase for the moment when everything aligns and something remarkable becomes real.
That phrase became a show. That show became a calling.
The Spirit of the Show.
It’s Rainmaking Time!® was built to cover what doesn’t get covered – or what receives so little attention that it might as well be invisible. Solutions. Discoveries. New and ancient knowledge. The breakthroughs happening at the edges of science, consciousness, culture, health, economics, and human potential. The conversations that traditional media – in its rush toward noise and speed – consistently leaves behind.
Kim felt the world needed this more than ever. She still does.
Confirmed by the Work.
The work began in 2001, on cable television in Los Angeles. Sixty-five half-hour live shows became conversations that awaken people – and a revelation about her place in it. What confirmed that this was not just a skill but a calling was this: prominent people from completely different fields kept finding their way to her set. Scientists. Artists. Entrepreneurs. Visionaries. People who had no obvious reason to be in the same room with her – and yet, in conversation with Kim, they opened up, went deep, and delivered something no other format was drawing out of them.
In 2009, she took the show online – building the website, the production workflow, the brand, the blog, and the archive with the help of a benevolent volunteer named Andy – and It’s Rainmaking Time!® became a podcast. Over 500 long-form interviews later, the show remains exactly what it was always meant to be: a space where the most important conversations happen, hosted by someone built to have them.
The Decision That Said Everything.
In 2014, before Kim moved to Europe, she was offered $3.5 million for It’s Rainmaking Time!® as a financing vehicle to fund a network she was called to build called The Rainmaking Network. She turned down the offer to walk away from It’s Rainmaking Time!®
Not because the offer wasn’t real. Because the archive was more important. The over 500 conversations housed on this site – with leaders, scientists, pioneers, visionaries, and creative artists across virtually every field of human inquiry – belong here. Available. Accessible. Preserved for this generation and future generations.
That decision is not a footnote. It is the clearest possible statement of what this show is, and why it exists.
