PMH Atwater – The History of Near Death Experience Research

Categories: Parapsychology

P.M.H. Atwater

Near death experiences (NDEs) have only been known to the general public since 1975. So when PMH Atwater died in 1977 (3 times) and had her own near death experiences, she got her foot in the door of a budding realm of understanding that did not yet have a steward. Since 1978, PMH Atwater – a writer by trade who had previously researched psychic phenomena and mysticism – has become a pioneer in the field of near death experience research. Throughout the course of her investigative career, PMH Atwater has written over ten books exploring the mysterious phenomenon, including Coming Back to Life: The After-Effects of the Near-Death Experience (2001), The Big Book of Near Death Experiences: The Ultimate Guide to What Happens When We Die (2007), We Live Forever: The Real Truth About Death, and Near-Death Experiences: The Rest of The Story (2011). In this segment, PMH Atwater guides us through the development of this exciting field of research and shares some of the most compelling historical NDE cases.

What really happens to us after we die? If you’re curious (and aren’t we all?), now is your chance to find out!

I Had an NDE in 1986, and much later, found out I was made to completely Forget it, lest I wouldn’t want to Come back. I had attempted to End my Life, almost succeeding. It took me nearly 23 yrs to come to Realize that, as Attwater said, my “Suspicions” of having had an NDE–though my Personal Life Choices, Fearlessness from Death, were all Changed 180 Degrees, those changes occurred quietly, over a very long period; with several Life-Changing “Coincidences,” that turned me from a Greedy, Unhappy, Unfulfilled Yuppie Corporate Housewife, into a Completely Different Person I Am Today. And Attwater is Correct, my Compassion and Connection with Humanity and our Relationship with Nature and Each Other, Brought Forth Another “me”. Truly, that other Person I once was, is now someone neither I nor Others Recognize, any Longer. More than anyone, I Like This Current Version of mySelf a whole lot more than that one.
OTOH, I must Forgive that other “me,” and go on towards the Light.
    Namastè to All 😉
