Dr. David Brownstein

Salt and iodine are highly misunderstood, but vital to health. Dr. David Brownstein, the author of Salt: Your Way to Health and Iodine: Why You Need It, Why You Cannot Live Without It, fills us in. Dr. David Brownstein is a board-certified family practitioner who utilizes the best of conventional and holistic medicine, and is the medical director of the Center for Holistic Medicine in West Bloomfield, Michigan. We talk about the prevalence of breast cancer, fibrocystic breast disease, fatigue, and autoimmune disease in the USA, the roles iodine and salt play in health and disease, what happened to the iodine in our everyday salt, and a Japanese study regarding iodine’s role in preventing breast cancer. Dr. David Brownstein’s vital health information should be on your radar!

All; of you should remember the good folk medicine and one of the doctors that started it…
I speak of D. C. Jarvis, M. D. one of his books is called Arthritis and Folk Medicine….
I’m sure it is out of print ! But I would think you might find his books at a used book store.
It would be worth the hunt

I have hypothyroid and have taken Levothyroxin for years. I switched to Lulgol’s drops and for 6 months I was happily gaining some weight (from 99 lbs. to 118lbs.). Then I felt nauseous and thought it was because of the iodine. So I stopped them and back on Levo. My holistic doc said that was due to the silver fillings in my teeth. Is it possible to substitute tablet form of iodine and what dose? (I have lost the pounds I gained in a short amount of time). I also had breast cancer, stage 0 a few years ago.

    Many thanks for your help.
