Dr. Edwin Vieira returns to clarify exactly what the U.S.Constitutional says regarding the realities of President Trumps National Guard Powers. Since The National Guard was ordered into Washington D.C. to clean up the area so that residents and visitors were more safe to enjoy the area without a large daily threat of violence, opposition has formed from outside the area that this measure is both Unconstitutional & Tyrannical even through the people living in Washington D.C. feel safer and the mayor is expressing relief at the level of crime that has diminished.
Earlier this year, The National Guard was sent into Los Angeles, California to also bring down crime and this was received as an assault on the Constitution. The optics on it was expressed by many news networks as “fascistic”. Right now, The National Guard is being sent to Portland, Oregon to protect ICE Processing Centers & DHS personnel and to prevent violent protests. They are also going into Tennessee this next week. The conflicts here is that this is looking like a takeover of cities by the president. The question is does any President have the right to do this and if so, why? What are the limitations on any president?
President Trump also intends to send the National Guard into Chicago to clean up the city and implement better protections to prevent crime just like it was done in Washington D.C. What if law enforcement will not comply? What if the Governor won’t comply? What happens then? Dr. Vieira addresses to Kims questions and the publics concerns regarding what the president can and can’t do and what Constitutional Authority The President of The United States really has. Dr. Vieira has been on the podcast many times dealing with many issues about the Constitutional Standing and measures that the U.S. Constitution, The Bill of Rights, The Declaration of Independence gives us as U.S. Citizens. Dr. Vieira is the author of many books, to name a few:
