Gavin Menzies

Revisionist historian and former naval captain Gavin Menzies returns to discuss one of the greatest mysteries of antiquity as detailed in his latest book The Lost Empire of Atlantis. Menzies (and his massive team of independent researchers) are the driving force behind 1421: The Year The Chinese Discovered America and 1434: The Year a Magnificent Chinese Fleet Sailed to Italy and Ignited the Renaissance. He has appeared on the show to discuss both 1421 and 1434, as well as his experiences with peer review alongside Dr. Tim Ball.

Awed by the unexpected majesty of the Minoan ruins at Phaestos on the island of Crete, Gavin Menzies learned that the site had been inhabited as far back as 4000 B.C. The technologically advanced Minoan civilization employed running water and water piping systems, advanced air flow management, and earthquake-resistant walls in a time when most European civilizations still lived in primitive huts. He was amazed to learn that the Minoans had developed a vast sea trading network that brought them to Egypt as early as 1425 B.C., spanned the Mediterranean sea, and spread into Europe and North America. This revolutionary discovery is backed up by identical bronze artifacts in those regions, tell-tale clues to Minoan presence at famous monolithic sites like Stonehenge, and extraordinary genealogical data. Join us with Gavin Menzies as we explore the extraordinary history of the Minoan civilization in search of The Lost Empire of Atlantis!

it is not an attack, gavin , but the book is ridiculous!!!
    an absolute lack of information!!!
much i enjoyed two previous books, and more i’m disappointed about this one: it is just not your field, gavin
    1. see felice vinci about homer in baltic sea and you will find that all mediteranean civilization had been founded by northern peoples from antient tula, minoians included. if not enough, see b.tilack’s research on northern origin of arians
    2. still talking about egiptians constructing piramids?! shame! get informed! they are more than 10000 years old!
plato is talking about atlantis as a very old, ancient civilization, not the one that was living only 1200 yaers before him! otherwise he would have had much more details. did you also find the circular urban complex described by him on santorini or at crete?
    3. who brouht the tones of cupper to the shang chinese? minoians did?
it is very interesting to have some pionts on the events and facts of marittime trade from a master salor, some passion for metallurgy is also appreciated, but the atlantis problem … there are so many researches from antiquity till nowdays some of them by really remarcable minds, they wouldnt fit in the jfk airport. before approaching the argument just get informed, otherwise it’s a book for children
good for marcella, she has a book dedicated to her
now you are busy promoting book so i dont think you will ever answer me
    good luck and take care

just to be clear and precise: i do not suspect and would never accuse gavin of what his attackers do, i just want to say that a lot of people will find some good and interesting information in this book, but it has nothing to do with atlantis history and atlantis real location
the chinese travelers is easier because it is our recent history, and i enjoyed those book and all the information i got is very useful to me
atlantis is a very different story…
