    Hi Kim

Thank you for being such a good and encouraging host. Since the discovery of the Book of Enoch, in 1773 scholars and religious leaders have debated its place in Christianity. It was my pleasure to address this and the history of the church with you and your listeners.

    Thank you and be blessed.

A refreshing and soulful discussion about the books that were left out of the Christian cannon and the impact that ecclesiastical/political editing has had on humanity throughout history. It is a privilege to be able to listen to Joseph Lumpkin talk candidly about his experiences with these other illuminating texts. It allows the listener to hold all scripture in a broader context and opens our hearts to interpretations that we might not have considered before. Enlightening and refreshing!!

    Dear Mr. Lumpkin,

I’m curious about how you came to possess the Books of Enoch and what references you used to interpret them.

    Thank you.

I would like to posit a suggestion that Mr. Lumpkin do a translation of the three books of Meqabyan from the Ethiopian Bible. They are the only books from the narrower canon that hasn’t been translated in scholarly English. I bought the only English version available, but I didn’t find it a very understandable translation

      Wayne,

The best way to get your suggestion to Mr. Lumpkin is to contact him directly at Fifth Estate Publishing. Why don’t you try him there?

Great Show, Kim! How come I could not find these Joseph Lumpkin, and others, in your weekly iTunes, (Podcast app) yet, find them in your Website.

Though as a rule I don’t normally allow myself the Sidetracking Effect of accessing a Provider’s Website–only their Podcasts–YOU & “It’s Rainmaking Time” is in a quite short, short-list of Podcasters, Whose Sites I DO Visit. It’s Shows like Joseph Lumpkin’s that motivate me to do so.
You’re a Credit to Womanhood, to Journalistic Integrity, and a FABULOUS Interviewer–esp in Subjects you’re learning as much as the Audience, AS We hear it! (BTW: I’m Trained in Journalism, Class of ’91, Texas Woman’s University–Denton, TX; thus I’m Elated by your Skills. ?

Thank you Clarisse. Itunes only stores the last 300 episodes so the best place to hear any segments before that is to come to itsrainmakingtime.com I have taken a break from weekly podcasting interviewing other people and traveled quite extensively the last few years. I found that the public did not participate in the donation side of the endeavor and that it was best to continue to focus on my life, books and ventures that were also of great importance to me. I will be doing a podcast on my own commentaries soon and you should check this site to hear about that and where to find it. Thanks for listening and we appreciate your feedback.
