In Remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Categories: Editorials & Commentary

Dear Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.:

We will never forget your healing, uniting, loving, and much-needed presence. Thank you for being a voice for peace, for standing up and speaking out. Thank you for being so connected to God. Thank you for your timeless contributions and the continuing generations who will be reminded of what is possible in the face of conflict, discord, and discouragement.

Thank you for being a voice of peace throughout what seemed like an impossible task. That peace continues from your voice forever. Thank you for what you left behind for generations to come.

We are reminded that your holiness mattered, that your life was not lived in vain, that you are to be forever honored and appreciated.

I also appreciate your wife, Coretta, who stood by you as you walked a difficult path. Thank you, Coretta, for supporting your husband and for continuing to promote the message of peace even after his premature and untimely death.

Thank you for nominating Thich Naht Hanh for the Nobel Peace Prize! Thich Naht Hanh continued what you each started. God bless you! May your soul rest in peace always.

Everlasting love & eternal gratitude,

Kim Greenhouse
